National Jamaica Blue Barista Compeition 2009

Congratulations to Celeste Aitken the winner of 2009 Jamaica National Barista compeition. Celeste triumphed over baristas from Jamaica Blue stores in Australia, New Zealand and China. Although the competition was close, Celeste Aitken from Jamaica Blue Morley in Western Australia took first place, followed by Caroline Nairn from Riccarton in New Zealand and Elisha Free from Jamaica Blue Toowoomba, Queensland.

 

Coinciding with the Fairtrade Association Fairtrade Fortnight Jamaica Blue will promoting the Organic Fairtrade coffee in May and June. The Organic Fairtrade coffee is a blend of 100% Arabica beans that have been sourced from leading organic growing regions around the world. Organic coffee is grown methods have a low impact on the environment and eliminate the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers. Fairtrade Certified guarantees that the coffee has been produced and traded under fair conditions, ensuring farmers get a better deal. This blend has a distinct flavour profile when compared with our other coffees. It is earthy and aromatic with a mild intensity and smooth soft finish.
